As an old saying says: “Everything is not what it seems” so do not let the harmonious vibe of Astoria foolyou that you will get bored here. As a matter of fact, this gentrifying but historically Greek neighborhood is made up of an array of multinational affordable mom and pops restaurants, coffee shops, bars, parks, and famous sightseeing spots.
Just out from below the train tracks at Broadway,the famous Greenbay Marketplacewelcomes you with all of the delicious Mexican dishes as well as pumpkins and adorable vintage coffee shops. There are many ethnic dishes in Astoria but Italian stands out. When you want to treat yourself,Trattoria L’Incontro is a mustvisit. We highly recommend the ravioli and risotto. A reservation will help as the restaurant is popular among locals.
There are also several gyms around the stations like Club Fitness and Astoria Sports Complex to help you get in shape in case you are having an overconsumption of wonderfully diverse dishes.
The apartment is located in Astoria Queens. Many Japaneses and Europeans live in this area. Just 17 minutes away from Midtown. The location is a very good transportation to commute to your job or school within the area of Manhattan.
There is a couple of Japanese grocery stores, and a lot of cafe/restaurants in front of the nearest station. The street is busy, but it is quiet and a safe neighborhood. I would personally recommend this area since this area can acquire most of your everyday needs.
